I have been taking this carbon 60 fullerene product for three weeks now and am impressed with the tangible benefits I feel. I have significantly fewer aches and pains of being a 47 year old athlete wanna-be. The recovery period from playing adult ice hockey is decreased profoundly and my energy on the ice is through the roof. Everyday things like climbing stairs, walking the dog and getting up in the night to use the bathroom are much easier to do since I have started using this carbon 60 fullerene product.
I am Dr. Joe Nieusma. I have a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences/toxicology and have been practicing for over 25 years. My company is Superior Toxicology and Wellness and the main focus of my business is pharmaceutical consulting in occupational toxicology. I determine safe exposure limits for active pharmaceutical ingredients and have written over 500 drug safety monographs. Additionally, I have evaluated the list of prescription medications of patients against the history to determine the actual need for the drugs or if weaning the patient from multiple drugs would be possible. In every case evaluated, the patient was able to drop one or more drugs from their medical treatment plan.
Taking a pharmaceutical product results in two possibilities, first, the desired effect of the drug and secondly any side effects of the drug. These side effects have the potential to alter normal bodily physiology. This carbon 60 product has potential to help reverse these adverse effects from the toxic exposure of drugs and other environment factors.
This Ultra Pure C60 in Olive Oil is a breakthrough product from that has the potential to change lives and restore quality of life through control of oxygen radicals. By superb oxygen radical control in the body, this product allows the body to concentrate on normal cellular functions and less on damage control due to oxygen radicals. In other words, this product takes care of the daily assault from the human environment and allows the body to do what it is naturally programmed to do and function normally, at greater efficiency. When the body’s resources are not going towards critical repair activities due to reactive oxygen species, oxygen free radicals, or other toxic exposure consequences, the body is able to achieve homeostasis (status quo) of normal physiology and then even move into heightened performance in the case of athletes or other types of competition.
There are over 1000 published scientific articles regarding carbon 60 in the Nobel Prize-Winning fullerene configuration discovered in 1985... to satisfy any level of curiosity. A wealth of basic information can be found on this blog:
Some blog highlights are below.

A carbon 60 fullerene is a polyhedral carbon structure composed of around 60 carbon atoms in pentagon and hexagon configuration. They are named after Buckminster Fuller because of structural resemblance to geodesic domes (Chemid, 2015). The carbon 60 fullerene has a log Kow = 6.67 which means that is very lipophilic and is not very soluble in aqueous environments (HSDB, 2013). Literature suggesting there is toxicity from carbon 60 exposure is nearly exclusively focused on water based formulations of carbon 60 (HSDB, 2013). Carbon 60 does not perpetuate Fenton reactions which would produce oxygen radicals in the presence of metal ions (HSDB, 2013). Highly purified fullerenes (HPFs) were assessed as "minimally irritating" in the eye-irritation test (HSDB, 2013). The livelongerlabs.com carbon product is made with HPFs.
Fullerenes are powerful antioxidants, reacting readily and at a high rate with free radicals, which are often the cause of cell damage or death. Fullerenes hold great promise in health and personal care applications where prevention of oxidative cell damage or death is desirable, as well as in non-physiological applications where oxidation and oxygen free-radical processes are destructive including but not limited to, food spoilage, plastics deterioration, and metal corrosion (HSDB, 2013).
Carbon 60 in a fullerene is 172 times better at scavenging oxygen radicals than Vitamin C. The antioxidant property is based on the fact that fullerenes possess large amount of conjugated double bonds and low lying lowest unoccupied molecular orbital which can easily take up an electron, making an attack of radical species highly possible. It has been reported that up to 34 radicals have been added onto a single C60 molecule. This quenching process appears to be catalytic. In other words the fullerene can react with many superoxides without being consumed. Due to this feature fullerenes are considered to be the world’s most efficient radical scavenger and are described as radical sponges (Krusic et al 1991).
Multiple studies have shown that fullerenes localize into cells, organelles like mitochondria and throughout extracellular spaces (HSDB, 2013). This allows for the carbon 60 to act as a reactive oxygen sink at a local level where the oxygen radicals are produced by cellular respiration, chemical exposure, or environmental exposure. The wide distribution of the product is a key to the successful antioxidant activity that carbon 60 provides. A major advantage of using fullerenes as biological antioxidant is their ability to localize within the cell to mitochondria and other cell compartment sites, where the production of free radicals takes place. Experiments on rats done by Najla Gharbi and coworkers proved this remarkable trait. They showed that aqueous C60 suspensions prepared without using any polar organic solvent, not only have no acute or subacute toxicity in rodents, but also protect their livers against free-radical damage (Gharbi et al 2005).”
One of the biologically most relevant features of C60 is the ability to quench various free radicals, behaving as a "free radical sponge". Conversely, photosensitization of C60 leads to its transition to a long-lived triplet excited state and the subsequent energy or electron transfer to molecular oxygen, yielding highly reactive singlet oxygen (1O2) or superoxide anion (O2-), respectively. These reactive oxygen species (ROS) react with a wide range of biological targets and are known to be involved in both cellular signaling and cell damage. Therefore, the dual property of fullerenes to either quench or generate cell-damaging ROS could be potentially exploited for their development as cytoprotective or cytotoxic anticancer/antimicrobial agents. However, the attempts to that effect have been hampered by the extremely low water solubility of C60, and by the fact that procedures to get C60 into solution profoundly influence the ROS-generating/quenching properties of C60 (HSDB, 2013).
Absorption, distribution and excretion strongly depend on the properties of the side chains on the fullerene. The pristine C(60), like the livelongerlabs.com product has a very long biological half-life as it is formulated with olive oil, whereas the water-soluble derivatives are eliminated from exposed animals within weeks (HSDB, 2013). A longer elimination half-life of the product combined with the large oxygen radical scavenging capacity allows for a longer therapeutic timeline in vivo.
Research results have shown that carbon 60 fullerenes stimulate the immune system. Fullerenes do not interact with T cell reactivity but may activate cells of the innate immune system. Furthermore, they seem to act only on 'naive' cells, which have not been prestimulated with recall antigens, there are however, large inter individual differences (Bunz et al, 2012).
Major pharmaceutical companies are exploring the use of fullerenes in controlling the neurological damage of such diseases as Alzheimer's disease and Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS), which are a result of oxygen free-radical damage to biological systems. Drugs for atherosclerosis, photodynamic therapy, asthma and anti-viral agents are also in development (HSDB, 2013).
C60 fullerene absorbs uv-light strongly in the solar spectrum (HSDB, 2013). When exposed to sunlight or UV-light >300nm, the brown to yellow color of nC60 was lost gradually, and the nC60 cluster size decreased with time and the phototransformation half-lives of the fullerenes were 19 to 41 hours depending of cluster size (HSDB, 2013). The topical use of the livelongerlabs.com product may be effective against UV-induced skin damage or at least work to mitigate real time damage while also working through other mechanisms to repair internal damage of the skin. The end result from both mechanisms of action is healthier and less wrinkled skin.
Oxidative stress plays a major role in acne formation, suggesting that oxygen radical scavengers are potential therapeutic agents. Fullerene is a spherical carbon molecule with strong radical sponge activity; therefore, the effectiveness of fullerene gel in treating acne vulgaris was studied. Investigators performed an open trial using a fullerene gel twice a day; at 4 and 8 weeks, the mean number of inflammatory lesions (erythematous papules and pustules) significantly (P < 0.05) decreased from 16.09 +/- 9.08 to 12.36 +/- 7.03 (reduction rate 23.2%) and 10.0 +/- 5.62 (reduction rate 37.8%), respectively. The number of pustules, consisting of accumulation of neutrophils, was significantly (P < 0.05) decreased from 1.45 +/- 1.13 to 0.18 +/- 0.60 (reduction rate 87.6%) (HSDB, 2013). Therefore, the fullerene gel may help in controlling acne vulgaris with skin care benefit (HSDB, 2013; Inui et al., 2011).
The common thread to all the benefits of carbon 60 fullerene use is the antioxidant capacity the molecule exhibits. Scavenging oxygen radicals throughout the body will have numerous health benefits that will be obvious to a user of the livelongerlabs.com product. By superb oxygen radical control in the body, this product allows the body to concentrate on normal cellular functions and less on damage control due to oxygen radicals. Two and one half years ago I began to experience debilitating severe muscle pain over my entire body. A rheumatologist diagnosed ‘polymyalgia rheumatica’. I was prescribed Prednisone which I took for three months of a projected year long regime. I did experience a significant reduction in muscle pain; however, I stopped taking this steroid out of concern for well established long-term contra-indications. It was at this time I was introduced to C-60 from Live Longer Labs. Daily use of C-60 has provided continued relief from muscle pain without the use of steroidal drugs for the past 2 years.
In addition, with C-60, I have been able to discontinue a decade long use of three diabetic medications, each of which brought life-threatening complications.
C-60 from Live Longer Labs has enabled me to live medication free.
I got a bottle at a social function Wed night. Took a three dropper dose before going to bed. I followed the same dosage Thurs. morning and evening.
I awoke this Friday morning with NO lower back pain or arthritic pain in hands. I am TOTALLY blown away to see these results in such a short time. I have suffered from arthritic pain and lower back issues for the past 10 years without ANY prescription relief.
Thanks to Rick for telling me about this and to Max for sharing.
